What is a SIP?

A Systematic Investment Plan, or SIP, allows you to invest a fixed amount into a mutual fund every month — automatically. Instead of waiting to save up a large sum, you begin with an amount that suits you and let compounding do the work over time.

With EDGE AMC, you can start a SIP in any of our four BSEC-approved mutual funds from as little as BDT 1,000 per month. There is no minimum tenure — you choose how long you invest, and you can pause or stop at any time.

Why SIP works

The case for investing monthly

The evidence consistently shows that time in the market matters more
than timing the market. A monthly SIP removes that decision entirely.

01

Taka Cost Averaging

When markets are down, your fixed monthly amount buys more units. When markets rise, your existing units are worth more. Over time, this averaging reduces your average cost per unit and smooths out short-term volatility.

02

The Power of Compounding

Compounding means you earn returns not just on your original investment, but on your accumulated gains. The earlier you begin and the longer you stay invested, the more dramatically this effect grows.

03

Discipline Without Effort

Your monthly contribution is automatic. You are not required to track the market, time your entry, or remember to transfer funds — the SIP removes the psychological burden of investment decisions.

04

Accessible Entry Point

You do not need a large lump sum to begin. A SIP lets anyone — a salaried professional, a small business owner, or a student — start building wealth at their own pace.

SIP vs Lump Sum

Which approach is right for you?

Both have their place. The right choice depends on your financial situation,
income pattern, and comfort with market timing.

Particulars SIP (Monthly) Lump Sum
Minimum amount BDT 1,000 / month BDT 5,000
Market timing risk Low — averages over time Higher — entry point matters
Best suited for Salaried or regular-income investors Investors with a surplus lump sum
Flexibility Pause, stop, or change amount anytime Withdraw subject to exit load
Compounding benefit Strong — monthly contributions accumulate Strong — if left invested long-term
Tax rebate eligibility Yes — on cumulative annual investment Yes — on the amount invested
Minimum lump-sum subscription is BDT 5,000 for individuals and BDT 50,000 for institutions. Some funds apply a 2% exit load if units are redeemed within two months of investing. Common questions

SIP — frequently asked questions

Yes. You can pause your SIP at any time by notifying EDGE AMC. Your existing units remain invested and continue to earn returns, and you can restart your SIP whenever you are ready.

Yes. You can increase or decrease your monthly SIP amount by submitting a revised instruction. Changes typically take effect from the following month's cycle.

Yes. Investments in EDGE mutual funds — including amounts invested via SIP — are eligible for the 10% investment tax rebate under Bangladesh's Income Tax Act, subject to the eligible investment ceiling. Use our Tax Rebate Calculator to estimate your savings.

Your SIP continues to run through market ups and downs — and this is one of its greatest strengths. When the market is down, your fixed monthly amount buys more units at a lower price. Over the long term this reduces your average cost per unit and positions you to benefit more when markets recover.

Yes. A Beneficiary Owner (BO) account with a CDBL-registered brokerage is required to invest in any Bangladesh mutual fund, including EDGE funds. If you do not have a BO account, your broker can help you open one — the process typically takes 1–3 working days.
